Objective – To build awareness in protecting the environment; To build community resilience in preparedness for natural disasters; To Monitor and evaluate the disaster plan for Hellshire.To collaborate with responsible organizations to build resilience in preparedness for natural disasters

Key Targets:

• Mangroves replanting

• Ensure Maximum participation of residents in the International Coastal Clean-up Day

• Identify and adopt one of the Beaches in Hellshire and undertake the requisite clean-ups

• Implement a Recycling Lifestyle for all Communities in Hellshire – (work alongside projects and finance teams for implementation)

• Be aware of all developments happening in and around our area and that proper Environmental Assessment Reports are in place where necessary. (Bring to the attention of the Executive as soon as possible)

• To work closely with C-CAM

To be aware of the Environmental Matters as it relates to Hellshire that speak to:

• The Natural Resources Conservation Authority Act;
• The Town and Country Planning Act;
• The Land Development and Utilization Act;
• The Beach Control Act;
• The Watersheds Protection Act; and
• The Wild Life Protection Act;
• Endangered Species (Protection, Conservation and Regulation of Trade) Act

Bring matters to the executive where breaches may occur or regarding any matter of interest in the above

Invite presentations from Resource Persons that can address some of the above issues at least once in the year
