Objective – To work closely with the Police, Fire Department and the Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management to ensure that the residents of Hellshire have and maintain a safe and secure community.

Key Targets:

• Implementation of Central Surveillance Camera Systems
  • Encourage linkage of private cameras to Jamaica Eye
• Formation of Neighbourhood Watches
  • Organize the community for training and setting up the Neighbourhood Watch
  • Have a launch of the Neighbourhood Watch

Other Action Items:

• Controlling Access to Vulnerable spots – e.g., Old Hellshire Beach (restricting access to certain classes of vehicles)
• Lobby for More Fire Hydrants to be installed in the Hellshire Community
• Evaluate existing Disaster Plan/ Preparedness
• Construction Site – design and implement system to monitor / manage
• Unoccupied Houses – plan of action needed; target for criminals/squatters; maintenance of overgrown bushes
